Getting Started
Connect the SupportFlow Capture extension to your account and create your first guide.
1Generate Extension Token
Create an API token to authenticate the extension with your SupportFlow account.
Go to your SupportFlow admin panel and select any app
Navigate to Settings → API tab
Enter a name for your token (e.g., "Work Laptop") and click Generate
Important: Copy the token immediately. It will only be shown once!
Keep your token secure. Anyone with access to it can create guides in your account. You can revoke tokens at any time from the Settings page.
2Connect the Extension
Open the extension and enter your SupportFlow URL and the token you just created.
Click the SupportFlow Capture icon in your Chrome toolbar
Click the gear icon to open settings
Enter your SupportFlow URL (e.g., https://yourapp.getsupportflow.com)
Paste your extension token and click Connect
You should see a success message confirming the connection. If you see an error, double-check your URL and token.
3Select Your App
If you have multiple apps, choose which one to create guides for.
The extension remembers your selection. You can switch apps anytime from the dropdown in the extension popup.
4Create Your First Guide
Let's capture a simple workflow to see how it works.
Navigate to the page you want to document
Open your app in a new tab
Click "Start New Guide"
Enter a title for your guide
Capture screenshots as you navigate
Click the camera icon for each step
Review your steps
Edit titles, reorder, or delete steps as needed
Upload to SupportFlow
Click "Upload" to send to your account
After uploading, you'll be given a link to open the guide in the SupportFlow editor where you can add descriptions, AI-enhance content, and publish to your knowledge base.
